Xiaomi is hosting a big launch event in Beijing, China today. At the event, Xiaomi launches a new Mi TV series. It is the Mi TV 5 series. Xiaomi launches Mi TV 5 series and Mi TV 5 Pro series. Each of the series gets three smartTV running on PatchWall. Under the Mi TV 5 series the company launches — Mi TV 5 75-inch, Mi TV 5 65-inch and Mi TV 5 55-inch. Under the Mi TV 5 Pro series Xiaomi launches Mi TV 5 Pro 75-inch, Mi TV 5 Pro 65-inch and Mi TV 5 Pro 55-inch. It is believed that with the Mi TV 5 Pro series Xiaomi is looking to take on the likes of OnePlus TV Q1 series that launched in India recently.
Let’s start with the Pro TV first. The Mi TV 5 Pro comes with three versions. One with 55-inch screen. Second one with 65-inch screen. The third one with 75-inch screen. It should be noted that the Mi TV 5 Pro 75-inch is the biggest and the most expensive smart TV Xiaomi has ever launched. To recollect, a couple of months ago the sub-brand of Xiaomi — Redmi launched its first-ever smart TV with a 70-inch screen. The Redmi TV 70-inch is confirmed to come to India but the launch will take some time.
The key highlight is that the Mi TV 5 Pro (all three versions) comes with Quantum Dot display, HDR 10+, and 8K video support. The Mi TV 5 Pro comes with slim sides and also minimal bezels. In fact, in the pictures, the bezels are almost negligible. The Mi TV 5 Pro series comes with 4GB DDR4, 64GB eMMC and packs features like MEMC.
