Nearly two months after they were launched the OnePlus TV 55 Q1 Pro and OnePlus TV 55 Q1 are getting support for Netflix. The TVs, which already support services like Hotstar, Amazon Prime, and which run Android TV software, lacked the Netflix support at the launch. However, Netflix is now available on the OnePlus TV. All new units of OnePlus TV 55 Q1 Pro and OnePlus TV 55 Q1 will come with Netflix pre-installed on them. The existing TVs that are already with consumers will get the Netflix support through a software update, OnePlus says.
The interesting part with Netflix support is that the service requires TV makers to include a dedicated Netflix button on the remote. OnePlus says that that all new units of OnePlus TV 55 Q1 Pro and OnePlus TV 55 Q1 will now ship with a remote that has this button. In addition, people who are already using OnePlus TV will get this new remote for free. They will have to go to the OnePlus India website, and then apply for the new remote using the serial number of their TV. The remote will be shipped to them for free.
“The Netflix app will come pre-installed for new users and will be made available through an update for existing users in the OnePlus TV 55 Q1 and OnePlus TV 55 Q1 Pro TVs and will enable their users to seamlessly enjoy Netflix content across a wide variety of genres in the most compelling picture (including 4K) and audio quality at home,” a OnePlus spokesperson said. “The remotes of OnePlus TVs will also come with a dedicated Netflix button to take the users straight to their favourite shows and films.”
“The association (with Netflix) opens up a whole new world of possibilities, empowering storytellers on Netflix to expand into a whole new avenue for delivering diverse stories,” said Vikas Agarwal, General Manager, OnePlus India.Read More..
