In 2019 we have seen several smartphone manufacturers launch 5G smartphones. Some of the companies are – Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo, Samsung, and Vivo. This year Xiaomi launched two 5G smartphones Mi MIX 3 5G and Mi 9 Pro 5G. To recollect, Mi MIX 3 5G was announced earlier this year while the Mi 9 Pro 5G launched a couple of months ago. According to a report coming from mydrivers.com Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has revealed to launch over 10 5G phones next year, 2020. For now there are no reports on whether the 5G phones from Xiaomi will come to India or not. Most likely it will not as the country isn’t 5G ready yet.
The same report suggests that the 5G Xiaomi smartphones will launch in China for now as the country is already 5G-ready. It is known that China is one of the first countries to adopt the 5G network. In China, the top three carriers have already started accepting pre-subscriptions for 5G. According to one of the latest reports around 9.3 million users have signed up for 5G way before the network was officially rolled out in the country.
Xiaomi CEO didn’t confirm the name of the 5G smartphones that the company plans to launch next year but it looks like the phones are already in the works. As noted earlier Xiaomi has launched two 5G phones this year — Mi MIX 3 5G and Mi 9 Pro 5G. The first one – Mi MIX 3 5G – is the 5G edition of the standard Mi MIX 3 that launched last year.
